When the system will roll out?
It is expected that the contact tracing system would be launched in two parts. The first part would be, where the API will be made available to developers. And this will happen in the next week only. Although, this phase was supposed to get released mid-May, but the crisis has made them expedite the process. As there is a real need for this contact tracing system, so social distancing can be practiced. On the other hand, the second part of the system will consist of a plan to issue a system update. That will further help in building the contact tracing at the OS level. Here, the Opt-in would be managed on the device. Also, then both Android and iOS smartphones would be able to take benefits of local contact tracing efforts. And this system would work, even if users have downloaded any health agency app or not. The launch of the second phase would happen somewhere later this year. Though there is no accurate date mentioned for its launch. But considering the early arrival of the first version API, is quite promising. And it goes without saying but both the app giants are putting their best foot forward to bring it to the market.
